Staying on the Way

Lot's of rally goers land somewhere close to stay over the night before the rally opens. Have you found a good layover location you can share and maybe help someone else traveling a similar route?

We scouted out the Big South Fork National River & Scenic Recreation Area that lies west of I75 and north of I40 in Oneida Tenn.
The Bandy Creek Campground (we'll be in D Loop) will put us up for a $13 camp fee including our Natl Park Senior pass. Nearby multi use trails will give us a little off road fun on the way to MOA.
It is just over a couple hours to the rally site in Lebanon after a night in the wilderness.

Last year on the way to Des Moines we laid over at beautiful Jubilee College State Park in Illinois and met Harry and Renee traveling to the MOA rally from NC. The campground host had some fresh ears of sweet corn on his picnic table and we asked if we could buy a few for dinner. No! he replied, but I will gladly give you some! You meet the nicest people in a campground.

Safe Travels and see you at the rally, or on the way.

One of our number has to turn back due to medical issues, so we have room in an Airbnb overlooking Lake Nantahala in western NC Monday till Thursday morning. Share is $190 for three days and nights. You get your own bed and bath on your own floor. Cell reception not available where I am now, but I’ll check for messages when on the road tomorrow. If you pm please leave a callback number
