Speedometer Repaired by Wirespokes

darryl cainey

Sir Darby
I just received my speedometer back in the mail from Wirespokes in Oregon, looks like new.
I sent him the speedo the 1st week in January, the issue being the odometer reset stopped working.
I sent him detailed instructions as per request of what I wanted done, speedo tune up, calibration, new reset button rubber. He was very good to deal with considering I live in Ontario Canada and having to deal with an item that is NLA from BMW and expensive to replace if lost. I boxed it as per his instructions and sent it off in the mail insured for $400.
Terry (Wirespokes) went out of his way to track down my parcel and drove over to retrieve it, when I
somehow misaddressed the parcel, my brainfart!
I was put on the repair list, a long one apparently, and notified when complete. I was able to pay for the service, parts & shipping by Paypal.
It's nice to be treated with respect by a repair shop that does good work, not enough people give
feedback for a job well done!

I will add my voice to that! Rode down to Terry Vrla's place last year with an airhead buddy and both of us with broken speedos and some other guages in hand. I can't say enough about his mad skills in dissecting and painstaking rebuilding of my speedo. Problems started with a never worked properly reset knob for the odometer and then the speedo itself stopped turning. After opening it up and disassembling as far as I dared I decided I needed a pro. I am very glad to have chosen Terry!

Now if I could just get the top end re-seal done on that old RS of mine I could get out and ride the darn thing!

same experience with my bombed out R80G/S speedo.

Terry worked diligently to find and have made the parts to restore my speedo to a decent shape. He has the connections:)
