RT vents under the windshield

On the 2023 RT, does anyone know what is the design purpose of the 'underflow' vents under the windshield? They seem to be creating two separate laminar flows of air behind the windshield. With the stock shield, that flow just goes straight up, meets the main flow from the front of the shield, gets mixed turbulently and causes all manner of buffeting at the head. I replaced with a CalSci vented shield and that's better but it's also causing air from yet another vent to be mixed in there leaving some residual buffeting. I'm almost tempted to create a way to block those underflows (somehow). Any thoughts appreciated.
