RT newbie self servicing initiation

Having put about 4500 miles on the RT in the last month and a half it was time for some fluid and filter changes. About 2 weeks ago I changed the final drive oil and lubed the splines and u-joints. This AM I did an engine oil and filter change, air filter, as well as the transmission oil. All went smoothly, although i did manage to spill some old transmission oil cause I didn't have the pail in the right place and chose to ignore making a homemade oil deflector(oh well, hopefully I'll do it next time!).

Having experienced not so great body panel alignment on Italian bikes I own and have owned, I was a little leery about removing and refitting body panels....my trepidation was ill founded, the panels came off and went back on incredibly easily and without any profanities! The RT is at 23,000 miles and once my riding season is over I'll do the rest of the 24,000 mile service-valves, alternator belt, etc. I hope that goes as easily!

cheers
