Routing the Denali D4 non-CANSmart Harness on R1250GSA

Hi all,

just installing the non-CANSmart D4 wiring harness for now, with DataDim module and three way switch,

first -- can anyone who's done this, or even with the CANSmart instead (as wires still go up front) please give me some directions about exactly where they successfully routed the harness wires, from (i) the level of the back of the tank to (ii) the front where their switch and lamp wires connected out?

can I usefully use the routing of the brake-line/wire bundle coming off the left handlebar? or the equivalent on the right side?

just two or three sentences such as "along the frame tube after battery, until going over/inside the fuel intake" etc., or even a photo or two, and were you mainly on the left or right side of the tank? is it viable to go under the rising plastic cover on the tank up and past the fuel filler cap - that route?

just trying to find the safest route, YouTube videos (esp. that English chap) are good but actually don't go into close-up detail of actual routing through the "difficult part",

(I might add the CANSmart module next year when the budget allows, so not doing it that way currently - and Öhlins susp. more important next anyway, before digital wizardry - so using the D4-supplied harness with battery contacts, DataDim module attached and three-way switch to handlebar left)

Second question - has anyone used the brake light positive for the one PosiTap connection (white wire) or where do you find the low-beam wire for that, for the switched-power connection that's needed?

cheers, thanks so much everyone!

Any YouTube videos showing this?

Though I've checked YouTube on this, has anyone seen a video of this on a 1250GS (I'm sure recent 1200's would be just as useful too actually) that shows the routing up-close?

Have a peek and see if this fits your bike-

I like this kind of harness as it doesn't mangle the factory harness.

Good Luck.
