repack r1200gs muffler

Anyone out there ever repacked the muffler on a r1200gs before. Mine is louder than I want (old man ears) and I want a quieter exhaust. I've read that two stroke racers repack often. Some four stroke racers do the same. anyone out here ever do it?

Welcome to the forum! What is the brand name of the muffler? I did a search of the forum and found some past threads on repacking for Ztechnik, Remus, Offenbach. If you want to check some of those yourself, go to the google home page and type the following into the search box:

Welcome to the forum!
I’m not familiar with repacking a muffler not Specifically designed for being repacked. Used to do a repack back in the day with the 2-strokes. As I remember, never worked out as well as the factory.
