SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC Potential Number of Units Affected:

Summary:

BMW IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 K1300 S AND K1300 GT

MOTORCYCLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN OCTOBER 1, 2008 AND MAY 1, 2009.

IN CERTAIN RIDING CONDITIONS INVOLVING INCREASED VIBRATION, THE BRAKE FLUID IN THE FRONT RESERVOIR CAN FOAM.

Consequence:

THIS COULD LEAD TO A REDUCED BRAKING CAPABILITY OF THE FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A CRASH.

Remedy:

THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED THE AGENCY WITH A REMEDY OR NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BMW AT 1-800-831-1117.

That's interesting. My dealer is getting one made in June. Wonder what they did different.
 
Bumped into the recall while doing some reading. No idea from the recall or the article what the remedy is.
 
I'd like it if they went to the old turn signals and the old resevoirs!! my 4 way and info buttons do not work and as of today I am getting intermittant interuption of my esa and windscreen buttons.:type
 
Recall Update

Took my bike in for the 600 at Max in NH - they were fully aware of the recall and did it to my bike.

The repair is comprised of putting in a foam piece into the brake reservoir to take up space and eliminate the fluid from foaming
