R1300RT Motorrad Announcement

I’d kinda like a new bike. I really like the 1250’s but this new bike looks good as well. As I’m not getting any younger, :gerg I need a lower, more comfortable seat.
I think on a lot of HD’s the seat heights are 8”-10” lower. Might even be able to-

:dunno

Perhaps these new bikes may be more attractive to the younger crowd but how many young people are buying motorcycles these days and how many can afford a $30K+ bike?
Looking at the market as a whole and the slumping sales numbers, I doubt that the young crowds are rushing to the dealers and gobbling up these overpriced machines…

I don’t really see the bikes as overpriced. As more and more riders want the latest technology and their bikes having the same features as their car, the costs will increase.
I still think of the Captain America bike as the epitome of pure motorcycling-

Engine, gas and an on/off switch. 😊
Just my opinion.

Jeez. Check your tire pressures before you take pictures to post.....
How much is the Captain America bike worth?

Easy Rider: Will the Real Captain America Please Stand Up ...

$1.35 million

And when it reached $1.35 million at an auction, it was the highest price ever garnered for a motorcycle. But there are a few caveats to the story. The most well-known is the controversy over the authenticity of any Captain America bike, including the high-priced auction piece.April 9, 2024
Not sure if anyone actually rides the million + dollar bike. Easy Rider came out in ‘69. Bound to be some wear and tear.

Still, the elephant in the CPU remains: It has been more than four years since the introduction of the big TFT display and the so-called Motorrad Connected app -- and it STILL does not work as advertised! (My reference is my 2021 RT)

Has Berlin finally fixed this system?

If so, when will BMW get the fix to the many of us whom have never been able to enjoy all the features of the bike they purchased?

Lesson learned: Never buy anything in its first model year.

You would look good on that bike. With those speakers, you could play Ride of the Valkyries as your commin’ in hot! :burnout

OM

I "think" those "speakers" are for the siren and P.A. ... but I appreciate the sentiment!

RT ergos don't work for me, but I think the 1250 is a better looking GS than the 1300. And I'm glad not to have a massive TFT that relies on my phone for navigation. Base Camp and a Nav VI FTW!. Not sure what I'll get next - maybe nothing? My long-distance days appear to be behind me (only 1200 miles since last November :(), I'm 72, and BMW is pricing themselves out of the market IMO.

Wah, wah, wah...what a bunch of whiners.

88BMWJeff and PGlaves have it right. Tango, if you rode a new bike you'd sell what you have in a second - and for all the right reasons. :)
To each his own. I’m not suggesting that the new bikes aren’t technologically superior than my R1150RT. Much can be said about the increased engine performance and the other upgrades that have come along the way. I personally don’t find the new R1300RT appealing. Frankly if I were inclined, I’d sooner purchase a 2025 R1250RT or earlier, before buying the R1300RT because it’s a much better looking machine, in my opinion. As somebody else pointed out, I don’t care any less about shift-assist or most of the electronic wizardry the new bikes offer. Truly my bike has all that I need…fuel injection, ABS brakes, electrically adjustable windscreen, heated grips and a beautiful design which is a major factor for me. Really the only things that I’d like to have is an electronic cruise control and maybe a heated seat for the winter months. I added TPMS a few years ago and since my bike has a Throttlemeister throttle lock, I’m pretty satisfied with what I have.

As somebody else mentioned, BMW is designing bikes that appeal to a younger audience who will ride the new bikes for me. True! I readily admit I am not their target demographic and I’m perfectly fine with it. Feeling content with what I have and enjoying fully is a wonderful feeling
