R1300GS - removing stock auxillary lights

I realize I may be asking bleeding edge questions given the newness of the bike but I hope other canbus wizards might have some insight. I'm installing Clearwater lights on my R1300GS and have removed the stock aux lights. Now I have an error when I start the bike that the left aux light is faulty. Do I have to terminate the canbus cable to the light if it's not used? I tried turning off the lights in the settings but no joy.

It needs the light hooked up or have a dealer remove them.
