r1100rt transmission and fd capacity

Did BMW's update for final drive capacity to 180 ml include the r1100rt?

With the correct amount of tranny fluid, is the level visible in the hole?

What do you think about the wunderlich tranny fill sight glass that has the tranny level high enough to be seen over the threads? (Seems like too much oil)

For the oilheads (1100 and 1150), I've never heard anything other than, for both the trans and the rear, the oil should be up to the bottom of the threads of the filler hole with the bike on the centerstand.

Note that the trans isn't too picky about what goes in there - I'm sure many will chime in "I use this because..." - but in the rear, stay with 75W90 GL-5 hypoid.

180 ml for an oilhead rear drive does not match the info I have, which indicates 230 ml on a change, 250 ml on a "new" unit. I've never measured that capacity.. just fill to the bottom of the filler threads.

i do not believe that the 180 ml capacity, with a change from 220 previously, refers to oilheads. I've only seen it in reference to K12 or K13 models... but i could be mistaken.

Correct, 180ml applies to the Hexheads.
250ml remains unchanged for the oilheads
