How long do the CO2 cartridges in the Genuine BMW tire repair kit last? The ones I bought with the purchase of my 1986 K75c are looking for a home in that dinky storage space under the new passenger seat.

I don't know the Gas Laws on shelf life, nor stayed in a Holiday Inn..however, recently threw about a 10 year old cartridge in my pellet rifle...and got nothing:dunno
Kind of why I question the Air bag vest claim of lifetime product.

61996, I cannot recall hearing of anyone successfully using CO2 cartidges to inflate a tire on the road. Have you ever used them? Will they seal a bead? Why not a pump?

AK: Yes, I have used them. Whats not shown in the picture is that I have a half dozen.
Now....that said, since I put that kit together I did buy a mini-pump. Takes up more room but I think will be more reliable than the ctgs.
Also, since putting that kit together, I have pared it down substantially eliminating the duplicates...pliers, screwdrivers etc.
