Odd sound...'82 R65

Ok. I know this is going to be the worst kind of newbie question but I've never owned one of these before so please be patient, LOL

Cold bike, first thing in the morning, I turn everything on but don't start the bike. When I turn off the kill switch, I get a single click...sounds like a vacuum flap closing, from the left rear of the engine (I think).

I can't recreate reliably.

Any clues? Is there some electric cold-start component to this that I'm missing? Bike is running ok...I'm just curious.

Cold start

Puzzling, as there is no cold start item that would click when you do what you describe.

I could guess it is one of the relays either headlight or starter? I am not overly familiar with the 82 R65, are the relays on the frame under the gas tank? The other 82 bikes have the headlight relay inside the headlight shell. I think on you bike the left side would be the spot for it.

LOL, this happens when you turn the kill switch off? Sometimes when the ignition is on and I mess with my kill switch, which is rare, I can get a spark and a pop in the engine. Just a thought. St.
