Hello from Sebastopol - Might be a new owner of a 1983 R100S on or about 20 June - at least the down payment has been made. Traveling about 6 hours to get it. I have a 2002 Honda ST-1100 (which I dearly love and plan to sell) and a 1983 Yamaha XT250 which is growing on me. I am enamored when it comes to German engineering and so I need to take the plunge before I get too old to ride. A slightly lighter and more sedate mc will probably be a good trajectory for me. Also I like the idea of being able to readily see the mechanical components on this mc. The Honda is encased in beautiful never ending plastic and that’s starting to get old. I used to be chief engineer on
oceanographic research vessels in support of remotely operated submarines so I can still turn a wrench and figure out most of the stuff in the manuals/videos (etc), but these days I need to be in the mood! Anyway I am very happy to get this 1 year membership and this old BMW mc too! Thank you - Denny

Hallo & Willkommen, Denny - from the NoAL Tennessee River valley.

Hope your purchase works out in your favor. I believe there are an abundance of BMW Airheads in California, so join one of their convenient geographical groups. Mrs-HSV is the ALabama Airmarshal, and she’s thrilled to have more members join her clutch... I too, would be thrilled to have more BMW Riders join MOA CC-05, the AlaBeemers {but the pickins are pretty slim these days}. We’re headed north to the MOA International Rally in One Week! Be there or Be square....

GOOD LUCK with your relatively “new” Vintage BMW.
Be safe & be seen - maybe you’ll add some LED lighting....

Wow, it's a small world at times. Hello from the East Bay.

On a side note, work takes me up to Sebastopol on Friday. Not suggesting we meet up. While that would be cool, I won't have the time with work.
