Flooding rain this am... dish internet sporadic to say the least:banghead

H came home on the thumper to tell me she had no front brake Wednesday eve. :eek
I asked if that was a problem...got a look:bluduh

Gave the lever a squeeze to have normal resistance...new pads earlier in year along with brake system flush. Noticed a sheen of oil on caliper and rotor...then saw that the left fork was coated as well. Good news brake system is fine, fork seal gone.

I know someone is to blame here cause it's only 30 K miles on a 07 model:stick
Had changed fork oil at the 24K mark with the official dealer purchased branded fluid so must be the seal manufacturers bad engineering. Nine years is just not an acceptable period.

Yes, I jest:jester

Was planning on replacing headset bearings at next service anyways, so this just moved the schedule a bit. Good for me she has a couple of backups.:love

Not so bad... I once had a shop tech dump the full pan of my used oil all over my front wheel/brakes/etc... not only did they not have replacement pads in stock (no, brake cleaner did NOT help), but I had to submit paperwork to the Mothership to get a refund for the pads I bought later.

Could have been worse. A lot of the time fluid will make the brakes really grab resulting in a "stoppie" if you are good, "endo" if your not so good :eek
