Hi Everyone, I'm a new member from Jacksonville, Florida. Been riding since I was a child, raced motocross and got into the enduro world a bit later. Recently parted with two Huskvarna's and my trusty and beloved BMW G650 X-Challenge to purchase a 2011 R1200 GS Adventure. Best move I may have ever made! I'm once again feeling the freedom I remember as a young man riding motocross. I love the ADV lifestyle as well. I am an avid Land Rover enthusiast and love traveling and seeing new parts of America. Happy to be here, looking for members who are around Jax for get togethers and general riding. I'm looking forward to meeting some great people!

Welcome to the forum!
I'm still kicking myself for not buying a Defender the last year of import.
Any questions, just ask.

Thanks Gary! I'm actually headed to England to see the last Defender roll off the assembly line in September! Hopefully I'll be able to rent a BMW while I'm there.

Yeah, the trip should be a lot of fun, especially for a LR enthusiast. For the Discovery's dated up to 2004, (sigh) yes, Lucas provided the majority of electrical. Unfortunately, I don't own a newer Rover but I'm guessing they are still providing electrical components based on the journals and magazines I receive. God save the queen, er, I mean Land Rover. In all honesty I haven't had a lot of trouble with Lucas. Hopefully that trend will continue! Having restored several Land Rovers I certainly had some head scratching moments looking at hair-like thin wiring wondering how it could possibly work! It appears that my R1200GS Adventure has much more robust wiring and electrical components. If my Rovers have made it through all my trips then I'm sure the GSA will be far better off.

With any luck, you will be able to get some Lucas Wiring Harness Replacement Smoke (LWHRS) direct from the manufacturer. :D

There are a number of places restoring LR's in northern New England. They are a little different than the "Sports" of nowadays.
