New From the Tampa Bay area

Just joined today, have a 2024 R1250RS on order, should be in around first week of Jan. Last bike was a 2006 Honda RC-51, been riding for around 30 years and recently fell for the BMW's. Wanting to tap into the vast experience here in this group with my new favorite machine.

Welcome from a little east on I-4. You will enjoy that nice new ride. Great way to start the new year.

Welcome korz! Did you sell the RC51? Pics of the new bike, when acquired, are always appreciated and I don't think you would get any objection if you decided to post a pic of the Honda in the mean time.

Welcome KORZ from the Tenn River valley of north Alabama!

I hope U took an RS out for a test ride before placing your order. I know it looks fast just sitting in the showroom. :nod I'm guessing you'll be tickled to leave the Tampa traffic behind as soon as you get your initial break-in service accomplished...

And as a bonus for joining, the MOA Foundation will give you $$ for getting professional street or dirt training should U want to be better prepared for Sporty riding! >>> https://bmwmoaf.org/rider-training/paul-b-grants/ <<<

You'll have even further to ride to Redmond, OR next June than we will should U be inclined to attend the 51st National BMW Rally. You'll have time to read all about it in the MOA Owners News, either online or on paper... :brow

oh wow, thank you for that. I'll have to contact my dealer and see if they can get me the production number. I know when I ordered it, it was already in production so hopefully just after the first of the year.

Welcome to the forum!

Congratulations on the new bike. Using the “Tag Cloud” there are a few threads on how to “track” your bike through the process.

Here is one of the threads- https://forums.bmwmoa.org/showthread.php?95394-tracking-an-order

Good luck.

I sold the RC a few years ago. I might be able to load it to here

Welcome to the forum korz.

Here's my notes on tracking our 2022 R1250RSs after they were built.

Order and Shipping Details
Ordered two 2022 R1250RS bikes the first week of July.
Built in Berlin Aug 24th and 25th
Dealer emailed me the VIN numbers and the shipping container number.
Bikes arrived at the Bremerhaven Germany docks Sep 7th
I think I got the name of the ship by googling the container number.
The container shipping company was https://www.hamburgsud-line.com/line...ces/index.html
I used a Marine Traffic site to follow the ship and see it docked. https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais...ry:30.6/zoom:3
Loaded on ship (MSC Marina) Sep 17
Ship departed Germany Sep 18th
I was able to follow the ship as it left Germany and through the English Channel. I could see the ship location and speed as long it was within 60 miles of land.
When I thought it should be close to the US I paid a one time fee of $0.99 to track the ship by satellite. I saw it was close to Canada and a couple days later I could see it again near Cape Cod on the Marine Traffic site.
The ship arrived at the New York dock without any delays off shore on Sep 28. On the Marine Traffic site I could see the ship was at a dock.
Unloaded from ship Sep 29th
The container tracking site had no new info for a few days
Oct 4 a local trucking company picked up the container and I could now see it on the DHL site https://dhli.dhl.com/dhli-client/publicTracking?1
On the DHL site I select Customer Ref Number and entered the last 7 digits of the VIN (Use Caps)
Same day, Oct 4 the container arrived at the distribution center, Easton, Pa.
The container was unloaded and on Oct 5 our bikes are on a truck .
ETA for arriving in KC is Monday Oct 11th.
Tracking shows the bikes were flown to Kansas City and arrived at airport Oct 7th.
Kansas City dealer received bikes Oct 12, seven weeks after production.

I'll have to get my bikes info from the dealer tomorrow. It was in production already when I put the deposit down on it, so hopefully I'll have something to track, that would make me happy.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes and the great information.
