I just purchased a 2011 12GS. Just like you I thought about waiting for a 2012 new model. I like to think that these air cooled engines are at their peak of perfection. So, I bought one now instead of waiting for an unproven design. That being said, I am sure BMW will put out a good product that will set a new high mark. But, I get to ride a new one now.

Also, just like you, my finances in my house operate the same way. When my wife/partner of 28 years and I decided the time was right to buy, (We) made the purchase together. Never had an argument about money our whole married lives together. Don't plan on starting either. Good luck on your decision and purchase!
