Mark Martin Museum

I followed Mark for most of his racing career and it was good to see him in the booth on Sunday. For those of you who might be in northeast Arkansas, Mark has a small but very nice museum at his Kia Dealership in Batesville, AR. Spent a couple of hours there recently and enjoyed seeing some of his cars and reading many articles on his career.

Back in the day, cars had left and right threads on cars. Supposedly for the same reason. It was easy to mess up.

Recall Chrysler products with that darn L stamped on wheel studs and still budging that up

They also said different pit crews not shared between Saturday and Sunday due to differences now.

The shop I worked for long ago hired a big ole former football player. He broke one off before looking on 3 different cars before they sent him on his way. He might get one of those a week, so he was unable to remember to look. And not trustworthy to fix his mistake.

One big ole New Yorker had real heavy disks, and a the hole for the stud must have been undersized. It was quite difficult to remove the remnants of the old stud and hard to get the new one to fully seat
