when i was there i tried a draft ale at the beer garden, the fellow told me it was black ale, made it Atlanta, Georgia, USA. OK i am not able to locate it on the net, who knows where this fine concoction was made? and if that is the name or what it was called(was it "a black ale" as the color was dark) it is a fine taste and it went down smooth, great refreshment. want to find more...

You guys aren't used to really good beer....

Come to WI.

Over 300 craft brews made here.

or go to CA or OR or WA or NY or VT or anywhere people are stuck indoors for a while during a particular season.

good beer is everywhere.

i liked the beer at this rally.:thumb

I believe it was this

The beer crew might straighten me out if I am wrong.

The Porter was so good that when I recommend it to my Irish friends there, they drank about 10 of them over the next 2-3 nights.

Great meeting you for real, wezul! I am planning on the OR rally now.

I have a beer store with over 2000 brews, five minutes from my house and I NEVER buy large corporate brands. Believe me I have had and enjoyed a LOT of really good beer.

where in western ny are you? i want to visit a store that stocks over 2000 types of beer.

Beers -- What I remember

Beers -- What I remember:
Terrapin (Athens, GA) - The wheat I believe
New Belgium - (Fort Collins, CO) Fat Tire and something else
Magic Hat? Vermont? -
Wisconsin? -

I know we had these types of beer---
Wheat Beer
Amber Ale
Pale Ale
Black Ale
Porter

Beer committee and other beer volunteers, some help?

Trust me, I only had a few but I'm not complaining. Compared to MOST beer tent events it was a stellar selection!

Please post the date and location of where you are going to host the "2000 brews mini Rally of 2009" so that we can come and try your beer!

Yup, Magic Hat is in Vermont. Their #9 Pale Ale was an interesting choice. With that hint of apricot you either love it or hate it. It's a fun company that does a lot of brewing experiments.

I was sort of expecting beers produced in the local area. The geographic distribution of the brews was a surprise (not at all unpleasant, just a surprise). Now the price of the beers sold was an entirely pleasant surprise! :thumb

oh, i see they've got Zywiec and Okocim, big beers in my neighborhood, the Zywiec signs and trucks are as pervasive as Bud stuff anywhere else.

not particularly good beers, but not bad.

Yeah, I wondered the same thing too- and did it have something to do with the fact that this year's selections were kept much more secret just a few weeks ahead of the rally than in the past? Not nitpicking, just curious. I did thoroughly enjoy this year's beers. :beer :beer :beer

Wow, excuse me while I wipe the tears of joy from my eyes! :bottle

That is quite a selection!
