Madstad Windscreen Opinion for 2002 F650GS?

I've recently seen some advertising for the Madstad adjustable windscreen that is specific to the 2000-2004 F650GS and have some questions for those that may have experience with it.

Madstad BMW F650GS

A) How easily adjusted is it?

B) Is there an opportunity to have a crossbar for GPS/Other device across the top of the mounting brackets?

C) What size did you choose and did you find that it worked well?

My OEM windscreen is practically opaque. My cheap replacement is 3mm thick and not likely to withstand more than unfortunate bug strikes. I want something more robust but need to feel confident that it will work. Any input on this or other options is appreciated.

Well, I don't have one on a 650, but I do have one on my F800GS twin - and I love it.

For adjustability - I can drop/raise it easily at a stop sign/stop light. I may have also dropped it down in light traffic, but don't tell my mother. Alaska roads weren't even enough to have it move from where I wanted it.

With some engineering, I'd say the mounts are robust enough to hold a GPS, but you'd just need to make sure that it doesn't interfere with the adjusting knobs.

I went with the 20" version as I'm about 6ft tall and have a slightly taller seat. I believe Madstad has a sizing chart and a good return policy.

Thank you!

Some have mentioned that the windshield material is acrylic and not poly carbonate so they tend to break in a fall, particularly when offroad. Have you ever had issues with cracking or crazing at the mounting holes or after being hit by anything? Is it easy enough to remove if I want to do something stupid yet have the presence of mind to save the windshield?

Finally, any close up photos of your setup?

I pulled the trigger on an 18" clear model and it's on the way soon. I did the suggested cardboard trick with my mouth at the top of the proposed windscreen and found the shorter version was more in line with what they suggest. I saved 20% using MDMRCH20 as a promo code. I'm looking forward to having a different experience versus my current screen. Thanks for the help DRNEO66!
