LED Headlight Bulbs...Again

bc1100s

Left Coast Rider
After having installed LED bulbs in my previous R1100S and K1200S I just had to install these improved lights on my R1200RS.

Ordered them off Amazon ($48 Cdn) and they included tiny little fans to cool the 10,000 lumens (claimed output). Arrived in 2 days. Installed in 15 minutes and voila, I am once again able to see much further at night. No flashes from oncoming cars so they must be focussed properly.

Highly recommended upgrade.

Thanks for the info.

I have a 2015 R1200RT. I am guessing there isn't enough space for an install.

Can you share a link to the bulbs you found?

I wonder what melts when the fan fails?

I have installed similarly-rated "fanless" LEDs in my Aprilia with no ill effects. The ones I just put in were on sale and my experience with the improvement in lighting prompted the purchase.

I can't copy the link without also giving you access to my account. And I don't really want to pay for your bulbs. ;)

I found them on Amazon.ca. They're called Wayrank H7 LED Bulbs..

Thanks!

I am not sure these would fit under the plastic cap but maybe. :dunno

Those ones won't. Let me see what I can dig up.

EDIT.....

This is the one you're looking for:

When you go to install them, remove the plug from the back of the low beam OEM halogen bulb and plug in the LED BEFORE you install it in the headlight shell. Then start your bike. If it fails to light, flick your high beam switch once. If it still fails to light, turn off your bike, remove the bulb from the connector, flip it, and then re-install. You'll then have the proper polarity, re-start your bike and it should light up. Then remove the LED from the connector, remove the halogen bulb, install the LED in your headlight shell, re-connect the electrical lead while being careful to maintain the same polarity. Then do your high beam using the same procedure. Enjoy.

Thanks BC1100S! I will take a look at those.

You're welcome. I just noticed that these are "out of stock" on the US Amazon site. Still available on the Canadian site although there will be additional shipping costs. Price quoted is in Canadian funds.

Best of luck!
