K1600 gtl tpms

The rear sensor on the 2013 K1600 sometimes tells me I have 80 lbs of pressure and sometimes tells me the tire has 0 ibs of pressure. The dealer says a reset would be a waste of time and gave me a price of 280.00 for the sensor. I've looked for sensors and have found some for the 1200 or a used sensor for the 1600 - from England. Does anyone know if the 1200 is the same as the 1600. And is 200+++ the going price? I know I can check the tire pressure, it is the warning light that drives me crazy and there is a purpose for the sensors.

When I check the vendor's other products I only find 2 with a rating, and that item shipped from China.

Being Chinese isn’t a problem—for all we know this is one of the same vendors that BMW uses. I’d compare it to buying Mahle filters and the like. At $36 a pop worth trying and reporting back to the forum.

There are also a number of people who have simply dug the battery out of their old sensors and replaced the battery, but that requires tools and a willingness to experiment and live on the bleeding edge.

Don't know. But it has Schrader as well as the BMW part number on it.
I'd bet that its from Schrader's supplier. Probably overseas someplace. China would be a good guess.
For the price differential...if I needed one (or two), I'd take the chance.

Saw this video today on i-BMW installing the cheap TPMs shipped from China.
One was shipped with a dead battery.
