Hyper-Lite flashing brake LEDs for R1200RT

bmwdean

BMW MOA co-founder
Hyper-Lites is now offering flashing brake LEDs for the single-wire R1200RT. They can be obtained in 16-LED or 8-LED versions with either single function (brakes only) or dual functions (brakes and tail lights).

BMW still does not offer its flashing LEDs for single-wire R1200RTs, only two-wire models. Hyper-Lites is filling that void.

The photo below shows two 16-LED units on my R1200RT.

Yea, I've had mine installed since before I went to Daytona!! They are great. I have the 16 led units and the install couldn't have been easier.

The HyperLights are great on have them on my RT and am thinking of putting them on my VFR. It is funny to see the look on the cagers behind me when I put them on :clap :laugh

Jeff:
Those are mounted to the license plate holder right?
Canbus OK?
Will they work on my ST? Thanks

Roger

Hi Roger,

You can mount them wherever you want. I mounted mine on the side reflectors, which the saddlebags block.

Don't know about the ST. I am sure Hyper-Lite can supply one for the ST if you just ask. It can provide them for single- and double-filament bulbs.

Hyper-Lites R1200RT times two

I was purchasing my 06 RT and the dealer suggested Hyper-Lite placement exactly where Jeff has placed his since it could be seen from a reasonable distance and was separate and distinct from the Brakelights. I agreed!
The Service Manager said an alternative to consider was placing them on top of the each Turn Signal just outside of the Brake Light so that a car closer to you would be able to see it. (As long as they were paying attention of course.) I told them they were both right! Do' em both!
I had them have the Hyper-Lites act as Turn Signals as well.
I was rear-ended at Kent State Uninversity in '72 as I was coming to a stop at a stop light intersection on my 1968 R50. I am very aware of the inattentiveness of the four-wheelers. I have the Moto-Lights upfront msotly for the "triangle" of lights it sets up; same as Jeff! You need as much of an edge as you can get!
See you in Vermont!
