How come BMW hasn't done this for BMWMOA?

While I probably wouldn't be a buyer, just take a look in the showroom of any large Harley dealer - there ARE people who would be happy to pay extra for a "custom" paint job on their new and exclusive bike.
(But this may be an unfair corollary....)

All, I think the answer posed by the OP is that the MOA just hasn't approached BMW asking if they would produce an anniversary model. I don't know that this hasn't been done, but usually the simplest answers are most likely to be correct. The larger question is, IF there were an MOA anniversary bike - would that prompt you to buy one when you wouldn't have otherwise?
Good point. If they were to build one it would probably be 5 grand or more than the standard model, and have a waiting list that requires money to be put down far in advance - sight unseen, or you might need to know that special someone in the fatherland.

My not so special RT edition.

The "special edition" bikes I've seen are typically different paint schemes and possibly additional options as standard, so don't really justify a big bump in price other then to make them somewhat aspirational. It would be hard for me to image what would justify a $5k bump in price. But, I guess anything is possible. :giggle:
