Hardcase Problems

Hi Team, I have a 2005 R1200 GS that came with expanding BMW plastic side cases. I am in Horticulture and used the bike to transport flowers for my girl, spilled a bit of soil, and now the mechanism to expand the boxes is stuck. Does anyone know how to take theses apart and clean them out? Are there manuals for these boxes?

Welcome to the forum!

I have the same cases on my F800GS. If I had that problem, I would first try flushing out the crevices with a compressor. After that, it would be a hard flushing with a garden hose. After a drying out, some lubrication with silicone spray lube.
Even without potting soil, the collapsing function gets stiff on mine without some care.

Good luck.

Gary
