Gertie's engine went in smoothly

I have never just blended in..

You will get used to the white grips. I like them.:bikes:groovy:clap

Maybe it's a generic Airhead problem, I don't blend in with the skiers either! Snoboarders don't even use the standard "Sorry, Didn't see ya dude" excuse when they run into me.

Been on skis every winter since 1957.

I know, the kids don't know about looking up hill before starting, or even looking across as they go by.

No ski ethics at all. Some boarders at rude to boot.

When the bikes sleeping, I'm skiing in B.C. , CA:clap

carbs

Are there better carbs than the stock bing cv carbs that come on the 1977 75/7? You hear all kinds of things on the street, but I'm new to the airheads and my bike just has no top end. Feels like a fuel problem......

wow. been awhile since I last year...

Just an update..

Sorry, I didn't make it to the Rally,,, I did register thou..family stuff came up.

The bike was ridden from Ketchikan, Alaska to Denver last September..
The carbs worked prefect. I have no complaints.. starts easy as sea level and Denver's mile high side.

I WOULD NOT GO BACK TO BINGS. I still have my set in Alaska.

Starts easy, idles good and there are no flat spots, top end is good.

"Cing", I would do a top to bottom tune up.

Start with the timing, gap, valves, air cleaner, gas filter, and dump the carb bowls.
Add new plugs, air cleaner, and proper gas filters.. then use the best gas you can find.
After you do all that,,,,, then consider the carb change.

The bings were fine, but I think the Mikunis are just a bit better and make for easy starting.

Next week I am heading for Denver and will awake the Gertie from her September Sleep..

LEE PARKS TOTAL CONTROL RIDING SCHOOL.. What fun..

This winter I worked on getting my R50 back on line, and just blasted around on my R11 when it wasn't snowing..
