Emerald Island Bushings

I agree that you should email Ted, but from what I know of automotive suspension bushings and the design of these Emerald Island bushings:

1. Greasing them every time you change your transmission and final drive oil, 12,000 miles per the manual, should be perfectly appropriate and the product page on Beemershop recommends this.

2. The internal volume of grease for these bushings is very small as the clearances are tight. You will not be able to fit much grease in there between services and that's okay. The car analog would be Delrin suspension bushings, I think, where they're fairly rigid and rely on the properties of the material and a thin film of grease for a tight sliding fit.

3. I would use a manual grease gun, and push grease until you feel a significant increase in resistance -- that means the internal space of the bushing has been packed full. Stop at that point as there's no need to keep shoving grease in there. Forcing more grease inside will only build pressure inside the bushing and that pressure will try to find an escape route.

I'm eventually going to buy a pair for my RT.
