I was looking thru my service manual and can't find a service interval for driveshaft lube (grease) splines and u joint. Can anyone tell me what is recommended?

I have a 2001 R1100s with 20K miles.

You probably won't find a service recommendation for spline lube. Check out the discussion under Oilheads- "Spline trouble on my oilhead?" I posted the initial message and the follow-up responses were helpful,

Good luck.

Intervals on splines are a hotly debated topic.

My S, a 99' got its first lube at 30,000 miles. There was still a little factory grease and the splines all looked good. Seems as though the amount of grease the bike leaves the factory with is crucial in relation to how your splines will look 20, 30 or 40,000 miles later. I plan on doing mine every 25-30K, when it is convenient for me in that general vacinity.
