draglink boot question

Just noticed it is time to replace the ball joint (telelever) gaiter (edit) again. It's a 2010 R1200GSA (bought Dec. 2010). Replaced the EOM in 2015 @ at 32,000, second in 2017 @ 48,000 and now at 56,000 it is time again. Wondering if anyone else is encountering the same maintenance issue?

Yes, low miles but health issues have deterred riding last 3 years.

TIA,
Dan

You referring to the swing arm boots fore at the tranny and aft at the final drive?

Sorry, no, I should have said the ball joint (telelever) gaiter. I know the problem with it tearing and to remove the blue cir-clip, did that on the first replacement. What I am experiencing is not with horizontal tearing but vertical cracking of the gaiter, gaping cracks. I suppose the question or questions are: Are others having problems with the gaiter deteriorating with time and wear? Can any one recommend a protector to apply? Ashamed to say I have just been fixing and forgetting and I am (very) lax about washing the bike...

Thanks for asking for clarification. Hope this helps.
