Crappy Rally Tee Shirt Design

Mr. Frank

New member
Does anybody else feel that the one color, unimaginative tee shirt design this year was a big disappointment? We all have piles of rally shirts, so it's nice to have something special for the national. The design on the back of last year's MOA national shirt was really nice, although the front was cryptic. Someone really dropped the ball this year.

Tshirt

I agree. This was the first MOA rally that I rode my motorcycle to and I ALWAYS get a shirt. I got a shirt but it was the one sold by the local dealership. They were a little more expensive-Approx. $21.00. I really liked the design on it MUCH better. :dance

I agree. First of all, the color green they chose is hard to take. ( The long sleeve was a darker hunter green, but still not great). The graphics on it was like someone asked their high school kid to bang something out on their PC in a hurry.

My business has access to some top graphic designers not to mention folks who produce all kinds of logoed T-shirts for a living so I'd be happy to point who's ever in charge of the T-shirts in the right direction in the future.

Another idea would be to have someone submit the designs on the forum to have a vote before they get printed on a T-shirt.

Glad you brought it up. I didn't have the heart to whine about it.

Surely you can think of something more substantive to complain about.

I didn't like the design either and I noticed that on a lot of shirts the graphics on the back were printed way off center. I easily saw five or six like this.

I bought one of Franks shirts as my "Rally" shirt.

Why rake hard-working volunteers over the coals before you have any facts?
How many were made?
How many are left?
How many attendees?
Compare to other years.
For all we know, they sold out because of demand.

Fred

Lets put some wolves and Indians and cowboys and some American Flags and a pony express rider and a big truck and a skull and cross bones and some topless women on the next rally shirt then we can all look like real bikers what else is there to whine about whine whine whine.

You know, I bought both a long sleeved rally shirt, and a "Frank's" rally shirt and if I didn't like either one, I simply wouldn't have bought it! I understand that you want a memento of the rally and all, but how about next year YOU design the shirt? (and have them made, and get them to the rally, and sell them)

Enough of this, I for one, am going riding! :wave

So far its been B-t-h & Moan about Franks, the Tire Nazi, bottled water, vendors pricing & now the Rally t-shirt. What is it with you guys? Do us all a favor & stay home next year so we don't have to see your constant complaining on the forum! You don't like the shirt don't buy it, its really that simple.

If you whiners think you can do a better job with everything step up & volunteer to do.

This is capitalism

Don't buy them. Save your money for next year. At the rally the VT club was selling their 25th anniversary shirt.

I don't like music by Enya. I don't buy it.

BMW does not mean Bitch Moan & Whine

:nyah

Designs are certainly a matter of taste. What I was complaining about was the decision to use only one paint color in the official rally shirt. The idea of a tee shirt is to take something very plain and dress it up with an artistic design. That is tough to do with only one color. Anyone who has been involved with tee shirts for clubs or schools or rallies knows that. This year's shirt was bush league.

So in the intereset of understanding, what would you have liked to see?

I know why I did not purchase one, and I told a few people, but I also said, this is what I would have liked to see.

I personally would have liked a motorcycle on the logo so that one can tell from a distance it is a motorcycle event.

Design contest?
I admit that I chose not to buy one for the same reasons.

One that I would buy is a guy screaming about the POA, while pissing on a GS laying on it's side.

Very appreciative bunch for all the hard work put in by our fellow members aren't we.

I purchased a rally shirt, as it was my first rally. After getting home and throwing the shirt on, I feel I'm liking it more and more. It's growing on me... like grass! Maybe THAT'S why they made it that green color!!! :p

Really, the only thing I was disappointed about was the tire guy. Personally, I didn't need tires. Either way, removing wheels on Friday night gave me a chance to meet other people. See, you can find positives in everything! You can wear your rally shirt while playing in the grass, and it won't show grass stains! It also won't show stains when you wipe grass marks off the GS you left on it's side!!!!!

I have a million of 'em! :wave

One color design "green" = Green Mountains Vermont, hope this helps.

Whah!

Step up or shut up- this is a volunteer event, anybody is perfectly free to come up with a design that *everybody* likes!
:stick

I liked the shirt. I bought both long and short sleeved version. At first, I was a bit taken aback by the bright green and yellow, but after a little time, I came to like it.

Complainers, I expect to see your names on the committee for next year, working to make a difference in an area that apparently matters to you. :stick

:D
