battery acid on muffler

Does anyone know of a way to remove the spots from battery acid (spilled onto right muffer after installing a new battery minus the rubber overflow tube) onto the chrome muffler. The spots are about half the size of a dime. If this is permanent, can someone suggest where I can have the muffler re-chromed at a reasonable price? Thanks

Your post does not indicate where you are in the world. Most any city of appreciable size should have a chroming business. I'd call a couple of them and get a baseline estimate. Other than that you can try a chrome polish or rouge and a polishing wheel and see if they will polish out.
