I am happy to be back on a BMW! After several "other" bikes (the DUC was cool)
glad to be on a BOXER, in NE Fla with year round riding weather. Anyone have thoughts about a user friendly service manual? Clymer vs Haynes.

What kind of "Boxer" are we talking about? We have both kinds here, Airheads and Cam/Hexheads!

As to your question, the answer is -- Yes! Actually, I've found that having at least two is helpful in order to get the strengths from each. Some are better with the words, some are better with the pictures. Also, having the factory service manual gives another slant on things, though it is primarily geared for people who have gone through BMW service schools. And they all have errors in the area of torque requirements, so bouncing one off the other really helps.

If it's an Airhead, the Chicago BMW club offers a series of maintenance manuals that are really geared for performing routine functions on the bike as well as a good electrical troubleshooting manual.
