Americans Flunk Simple 3-Question Political Survey

lets try and stay away from the politics here

Great thread. I've been consumed with work the past few days and hadn't noticed!

Can anyone name this guy (hint: he's not Canadian!)?

Actually the other way around.

With the financial crisis is down there, we might just buy the entire USA for a couple of quarters. :stick

Great! It will save me the trouble have having to figure out where to send my paper work to emigrate.
:rofl

or maybe we'll just continue to buy up the rest of Florida...:whistle

Yopu will have to get there ahead of the Brits who are buying up a lot of real estate for winter homes. My daughter used to live in Celebration, FL and the air and shops were heavy with the proper sounds of the King's English.

proper? King? Maybe it was just a bunch of Left Coast Canadians? The Germans are extremely active here buying up the terrain as well. Is it a peninsula thing?:dunno -Bob

What, a draft dodger! ;) Now thats downright un-American! :nono

Just get ready for expensive beer...actually, expensive everything, except for the healthcare. But I'll show you how to shop stateside for your BMW parts and accessories to make up for that.

I have reached an age beyond draft years and years where health care is a need rather than a risk to expense for.

I will sip my beer slowly to make it last while smoking a legal Cuban cigar and scrimping on everything else.

:laugh

Canadians are very patriotic, but the majority of us realize that we live in a Global Market. We purchase where we get the best bang for the buck. If it happens to be local, great. If not, then the locals have to figure out why they don't have the business. We tend to be more frugal and make our dollars stretch as far as possible. As we all age, we are glad that our health care is less expensive. We all need it more as we age.

You come up here and you do have to get used to good beer that actually has some good taste. And if you want, you can get the good stuff that is like a good port. There is even some good strong ale and stout that you actually have to chew. Now that is a good thing to have on our cold winter nights.

Shhh try not to attract too many tourists.

Living close to the border I like it just as it is now.

Here on Vancouver Island we love to have them come visit. That way we have another person to buy a round at the pub. More rounds, more better!!!!:drink

We're a happy bunch up here eh? Even with those ... uh .... 'socialist' like leanings that we hear about these days :hide Party on! :drink -Bob

I heard an ironic statement the other day:
America has socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor. Something to do with the B word

Bailout. :whistle

Not intending to float a balloon which may look political, I have always concluded that corporate socialism was a world wide and protected practice. And, that the concept of Democracy.... well, that too is could lead us down a multitude of resolution defying pathways. Nuf said I spose. However, I remain glued to your current election drama with great enthusiasm. 90% voter turnout (likely) is special and something to be very proud of. We could never do that here I suspect. :usa -Bob

I know the anthem for our Prime Minister.
An old song by Napolean XIV - Their coming to take me away, ho ho, hee hee, ha ha.

Or was that my theme song.

They're coming to take me away,
Haha, they're coming to take me away,
Ho ho, hee hee, ha ha,
To the happy home with trees and flowers

And chirping birds and basket weavers
Who sit and smile and
Twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away,
HAHAAAAAAAAA

:bolt

What is the Anthem of the V.P. of the United States ? :usa

I must admit that I had to cheat on this and research it a bit. The answer is :

Ruffles and Flourishes followed by Hail Columbia

An interesting exercise. Learned other interesting things on the way to the answer. -Bob
