It is with great interest that I note the Airheads Forum has the highest level of activity of any of the specific BMW motorcycle type forums.
Many of the inquiries concern basic information about out bikes, specific technical questions, seeking social interactions, trying to find appropriate parts and accessories or just seeking like minded local individuals.
The "Airheads Beemer Club", MOA Chartered Club #214, was founded in 1991 by a core group of 52 people to address the above matters across the nation, later expanding to an international presence. We have a Board of Directors, each Director representing one of 5 Regions, and a group of Airmarshals representing the members of a specific state (3 for California) and publish a monthly magazine, the Airmail. We are a volunteer organization, with the exception of our paid Airmail editor, staffing an Airstore featuring Airhead merchandise; a website with membership signup, forums and flea market; technical features and archived articles; activities calendar featuring events around the country including campouts, tech days, barley therapy sessions and rides; and any other items our members think might be of interest to other Airheads. We also sponsor an annual Airhead Central at the MOA International Rally as a convenient location for socializing and technical assistance to those who need help while on the road. The Airhead Central concept may be expanded to other major venues in the future. Most of our local activities are organized by our Airmarshals and their designees and may range in size from a dozen people to over 150 people at some of our larger local rallies. Something for everyone interested in Type 247 BMW motorcycles.
Dues are only $25 (US) per year, $32 in Canada and Mexico, and $50 elsewhere in the universe and includes all of the above PLUS a monthly technical column by noted Airhead Tech guru Oak Okleshen. You can sign up on line at www.airheads.org or snail mail to ABC Membership Team, PO Box 8345, St. Louis, MO 63132
If you are asking or answering questions on this MOA forum, or even just reading these posts, you need to join the Airheads. Hope to see you on the road.
