87 K75S Best or easiest way to replace front rotors and pads.

Got my new rotors and pads from ebc yesterday. Read manual, was surprised to see that you shouldn't re-use the self locking nuts to the rotor mounting bolts. Did a long search full of NLA's, superceded bys, etc and found some new ones from a dealer here in the usa.. waiting till they arrive before I pull the front end apart. Any helpful suggestions are welcome.

I've done it 2x and it's pretty straight forward - just take a picture of the orientation of how the bolts go in or better yet, look in a Clymer as their pictures showing bolt orientation should be accurate. Note torque values for tightening. I wear thin rubber gloves when installing and also removed the brake fluid cap so I could push the pistons back as new pads will more than likely make it tight to slide on the new rotors - their is a lubricant to apply to the rubber damper on caliper piston (I think that's where it goes) to help avoid squeaking.

Squeeze brake lever a few times until you have the right pressure before taking a test ride.

That's all I know. The floating rotors should improve your front braking experience on your K75s.
 
Put a towel over the bodywork, under the master cylinder, when you are pushing the pistons back. Make SURE you don't let the master overflow when you are doing this. Suck out the excess fluid. Brake fluid eats paint in an instant!
