I remember and had rides on the Goldwing when they first appeared. It was quite a thing to see and if I remember correctly, 70mph in first gear. :eek
Motor week just had me reminiscing about this great and long lived motorcycle.

I was a junior in college when the GW was introduced. It was radical and after my buddy let me ride his I Soooooo wanted one but couldn't afford it so I stuck with my CB550 four. Yeppers, somehow I've managed to get old. I never did expect to live this long or I would have taken better care of myself :)

How time passes. When the Goldwing came out I was mechanicing in a Kawasaki - Husqvarna dealership and riding or about to be riding a Z1-B Kawasaki. What I remember most about the first Goldwings was the way tall overall gearing.
