2025 Grand Coddiwomple is underway!

I did not think that I would have any chance of finding a chicken statue. But, lo and behold, I did! And a big pig, a purple gorilla, an elephant, a cow, a horse or donkey, and a bear. All at a place that sells yard art. I have seen some tacky and questionable yard decorations, but nothing quite like these statues.

You should get some kind of multiplier for that one.

Isn't there a Donkey/Mule/Burro challenge too? That looks more like a donkey/burro to me, as the ears are too long for a horse! If it's not to far, go back for a second pic with the donkey featured for the extra points!

I was thinking the same thing but he may not have to go back. He should be able to use the same picture just submit it for the Donkey/Burro challenge.

I just got my flag. Now I just need my bike back in working order.

Right down the road from my home is a house with a barn. Next to the barn is a large metal rooster. Has anyone knocked on a stranger's door to seek permission for a photo on their property? How'd that go?

If the sculpture is visible from the road, take a pic from the road.

Last year I got a bell picture from my campsite witch was a ways away from the church with a bell in the steeple, and it qualified...

Thanks r0ckrat. That makes sense. I guess I had it in my mind that I would need to be right up beside the item. Cool!

If in doubt you can add a second picture link to your submission in the comment section. This second pic could be a zoomed in shot of the statue showing it clearly. As long as your flag and bike are clearly shown in the first pic, the second pic doesn't need them showing. Like this

For clarification, does a statue of a rooster count or must it be a chicken? If it does count, Tractor Supply has them in stock.

I finally got out on Saturday to get some Coddiwomple points. As I stated before, I am going to do my complete Coddiwomple with below sea level points.

I think I am probably leading in the Below Sea Level Points category with 500

Since a rooster is a male chicken how could it not count? But that's applying logic to an illogical endeavor :dance
Did you try submitting the Tractor Supply rooster? I'm thinking it'll get rejected because of the "photographic proof of visit to Sites with chicken statues" stipulation. Not likely that TS will be considered a Site. But if it is, I'll go get mine.

Ick. I think the definitions need better names.

As written…

  1. “Site” means a single physical location which contains, or is marked by, a memorial, historic marker, or other elements as required by the challenge.

Perhaps it should have been…

I drove into Seattle to find the biggest building dedicated to selling coffee......And the bus load of tourists arrived in time to pose.
