2011 BMW R1200RT with ESA, lowered or not?

If i'm looking at a bike online, how do I tell if it has been lowered?
I know that if it comes with ESA from the factory, it will not be lowered, but what about if someone does it after purchasing it?
Is there a way to tell???

If it has the OEM shocks and ESA it is not lowered. If it has aftermarket shocks I think the only way to tell is from the receipt (if the current owner has one) or by measuring the seat height or something like that. Aftermarket shocks tend to be more colorful with the OEMs generally being black/grey/silver.
