Got the classic leaker. Can anyone describe to me the difference between the RT & other K75 tanks, an how this particular model differs from the K100's tank. As I search and find these tanks I note some tanks "from what I'm told by seller" only fit certain models. It surely wouldn't work out to find a tank and not have it fit. Also, any one have success with automotive fuel pump substitutions? Thanks for your replies...

IMHO, your best bet is to use RealOEM to find what models use the same tank.
To do so - visit www.realoem.com. Plug your VIN (last 7 letters/numbers) into the place for VIN, and find your fuel tank. Copy the part#. Now go back to the front page and plug that PN into the field for PN's. RealOEM will then show you all the models that used that part.
I believe the K75RT used the same tank as the K100RT (after 1986) use - but I wouldn't put money on this without checking RealOEM.
There is some info on using an automotive fuel pump replacement on the IBMWR K-tech website. If your tank is only leaking, it should be possible to reuse the pump (you may want to consider buying a new mounting damper.. they go bad due to the crappy gas we get now.)
Some people have had success sealing the fuel tank seam using a gasoline resistant epoxy. Most big auto stores have this sort of epoxy.
