1985 K100RS silly question I know.

The sticker on my Remus has started to some off and I would like to remove the rest of it without damaging the stainless steel of course. I have no idea what product I could use to remove this. I don't want to go at it with a plastic scraper. I did to remove the loose bits but even they were difficult. It would probably have to involve a product that would loosen/dissolve the adhesive on the back of the sticker. Any ideas, guys?

Obviously a heat gun doesn't work here...
With the pipe cold, try laying a paper towel soaked in WD-40 over it for a day or two; the combination of its carrier plus oil may do the trick.
Not silly at all.
I do wish that pipe (etc. ...) manufacturers wouldn't be so aggressive about using the customer to advertise their wares.

An update for you guys. The WD40 didn't do anything. I don't have a heat gun but I do have two 1500W portable shop heaters. I pointed one straight at it from about 6 inches away, armed myself with a sharp plastic scraper and the decal didn't stand a chance. Some super-fine steel wool with Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish to remove the remaining adhesive (could have used lacquer thinner I suppose) and then a final polish with Mothers and Bob's your uncle. Thanks for the help everyone.
