1979 R65 wheel bearings

I want to clean and repack my front wheel bearings on my 1979 R65. Problem is I can't figure out how to remove the seals. They are metal with no space to get anything in between the seal and the rim to pry them out. Any suggestions?

Could you throw up a picture or two of what you're seeing? Would help us to see what you're facing.

Something that's available where you can push new grease into the bearing. Cycleworks.net sells a greaser:

I use a needle greaser to add grease behind the seal without removing it.

The reason why I wanted to remove the bearings is I had the rim straightened. The people I sent it to recommend I change the bearings. I'm the original owner of the bike and can't remember ever cleaning the bearings or checking the condition of the races. The picture shows a bigger gap between the seal and the rim.

There are two "top hats" called compression rings by BMW. They are pushing down on the bearing with the wider part of the brim. In order to get the seals out, you would need to get something under that lip which is inside the stack up.

On the other hand, you're going to be replacing the seals anyway. I suspect that the black part is rubber. What about find a sheet metal screw and screwing it into the outer covering and using that to grab with a pair of pliers and pull the seal away.
