'04 R1150RS hardware (screw)

After my most recent maintenance adventure with my bike over 2 years, I lost track of the location of two screws. I HAVE THE SCREWS IN MY HAND. All holes are filled on bike. I can't imagine my model bike is the only one it fits on. Note the extend head or flat under the head. I'm at a complete loss where it goes.

If you're holding them in your hand, give them a good look and compare them to any other screws on your bike. Sometimes they're interchangeable between different spots. And if you're still scratching your head, swing by a local shop for some advice.

Looks like some body plastic securing screws. I've had them where they are very similar to others, just vary in length a tiny bit. Of course, the shorter ones fit where the longer ones are supposed to go. Maybe some body part that you've already secured is layered over someplace those are supposed to go, so it's not obvious by looking for an empty hole?

It's a total match for that trim bolt. Two lengths available; 16mm in gold finish and 20mm in silver finish per the MAX website. The 20 is only used on the GS and the 16 is also used for F650CS license plate holders. That's according to the fiche; reality might be different and someone used them on your RT's license plate or something like that.

That kind of make sense with the diameter of the screw under the head would fit right into a license plate hole. I'll have to look at it tonight. Good job Sherlock! :)
