More Rugged Mirrors For RT

jhall

BMWMOA #24809
I recently discovered the plastic housing on both mirrors of my 1995 RT are cracked. Amazingly they are still functional, but the cracks are only gonna get worse. I have learned to live with their narrow position but, if while upgrading to more rugged ones, I'd be OK if they were positioned a bit more outboard. I have looked at several short stalk type mirrors, usually mounted on handlebars, but possibly adaptable to the RT. By upgrade, I primarily mean more rugged. Not afraid t deviate from stock appearance, and would also be nice if they were a bit more onboard.

Has anyone here discovered a more rugged mirror for their RT/RS?
Thanks In Advance,

Joe H

Gen 1 Rabbit mirrors

IIRC the first gen VW Rabbit uses a very similar mirror. May have to make a sub-base to adapt to the RT fairing.
