Central Texas

This time tomorrow I will have traded in my 2008 Goldwing with 115,000 miles for a 2017 R1200RT. I've been riding goldwings since 1976. I'm looking forward to learning about the RT and the one test ride left me very impressed. I'm sure I will miss my reverse but I've lived without it before and will be more careful where I park, except at home where I'm going to have to back it in.

Congrats on your new RT.
Central Texas is a great area for riding. Where in Central Texas do you live?

Wing to RT

With my short inseam (27") I worried about not having reverse but the RT is so much lighter than the Wing that you can muscle it back in almost any situation. Granted I can't do it while sitting on the bike, but have to get off, grab the side handle and the left handle bar end, and haul it back, but in 3 years of running the RT, I've had no prob. The RT has so many benefits over the Wing, etc.

I will find out tomorrow how hard it is to back up. I'm sure it will get easer with practice.
Bob in Waco, Tx

Hi Bob. I'm in Lorena and work at L3 in Waco. Maybe I'll see you at a pie run sometime. You do belong to the Two Wheeled Texans don't you?

Mike I think I've rode with you a couple of times for pie. This month I won't be able to make it but I do enjoy the rides. Looking forward to riding with you on some PAVED roads.
