Nav IV

Howdy Folks,
I have a question for all you folks in MOA land. I just bought the 17' Rallye but did not opt for the Nav VI GPS as the sales guy told me to start looking for a used IV or V. My question is will the IV interface with the hand control on the 17' Rallye?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The Nav IV will not, but the V will.
I've been seeing used Nav V units selling for $375 to $500.

Yes, the Nav IV will interface with the "wheel." You must do a software download from Garmin. I did it and it works great on my wife's '16 R1200GSA.

How did you go about getting this software download?

On your PC get/download the Garmin Updater software. It's free. Go to Garmin.com. Then connect your GPS device (USB cable) and run the Garmin Updater software. It will check your device for necessary updates - software and maps (if you have purchased map updates). You can also choose other optional software updates like to make your Nav IV work with the "wheel."

Hope this helps.
