Welcome to the club from someone nearby. I come to Haps in Sarasota for my service. They do a great job. Enjoy your new ride. Have had my 07 RT for 18 months now and have put about 17K on it. Great ride.

That should be illegal!! Welcome to the board.

The 09 hexhead is the best of the hexhead bikes having a number of useful improvements over the 05-early 08 models.
However, do be certain your bike is current on all recalls as some are potentially serious safety issues.
With the last 7 VIN digits any BMW dealer can check the database and tell you what's been done on your bike and what is outstanding. Of course, they do all recall work at no cost to you!
Its easy to service if you are a decent home mechanic but you need access to a GS-911 to reset the service indicator. BUT- no guessing allowed- always ask the experts here in the hexhead section if you need help- plenty available from folks representing multiple lifetimes of experience including the most arcane items.
The RT is by most accounts the most comfortable all weather tourer in existence especially if you put a little effort into tuning the ergos to your personal tastes. (The current model is even better than the already good 09) Enjoy!
