help!! Coming home just about 2 miles from home I noticed a vibration in the bike. Got worse as I traveled and when I pulled into the garage gear lube poured out of the final drive. What would cause this? What needs to be done to fix this? the bike as about 56,000 miles on it and I have changed the gear lube in the final drive every 5,000 miles. Any insight to this problem will be appreciated. Dave

Welcome to the club. The vibration is because the crownwheel (big ball) bearing has failed and eaten itself (tech term). The leak is because the wobble in the crownwheel hub damaged the seal and caused it to puke oil. This is an all too frequent failure on K1200LT bikes.

If it were my bike I'd remove the final drive and ship it to Tom Cutter at the Rubber Chicken Racing Garage in Yardley, PA. There are others but Tom would be my first choice.
