I have been a member for three years. New to the forums. I ride a R1200 GS 2010, and it is my first bike. My kids and I were riding mountain bike on trails, so I thought I'll try a motorcycle . The next year I took the safety course, and got my indorsement . Now to pick a bike. I went to a Harley dealer first. Then a dealer which sold many kinds. My husban's co worker said try BMW. I immediately thought it would be out of my price range. I went on line first, to check out the bikes. I rarely see BMW bikes in Detroit . Once I sat on my bike I knew it was the one. I'm rambling , sorry

Be sure to check out the BMW Touring Club of Detroit at: bmwtcd.org. An active club with weekly breakfasts and dual sport rides throughout the year. The club calendar is slim right now until after the scheduling meeting which will be held this month.

I have some questions for not so new in Detroit.
First, where, in Detroit?
Second, you mention a husband. Does this mean you are a person of the female persuasion?
And, does the husband ride?
If not, why not?
