What Is With The Brake Pedal on '09 GSA

Okay, so I bought the bike used and didn't notice it at first. The brake pedal looks like it has two brake pedals on top of each other and looks like there is a hinge connecting the two but I can't seem to get them to move.

All GSA's:

The GSAs all have this dual sport brake pedal, for standing on the pegs. It comes in handy when standing, riding dirt! Your foot does not have to bend to reach the pedal, vs a sitting position. I leave mine in the standing position, because I ride dirt a lot. Work with it and you'll see how it works. Its spring loaded, so push and lever it into place and so on for the reverse. Thats it:). Happy Trails, Randy:thumb:usa

Mine fell off last week in the rocks somewhere:bluduh

I had it lowered and it was there one minute...gone the next after some really rough stuff. Never paid attention to how it was mounted so not sure what let go.Nice feature that I was getting used to having.

Well not exactly *ALL GSA's* have this special "dual" foot brake pad......
Only the GSA models with ABS have the "hi/lo" foot brake pad.
My '07 GSA non-equipped ABS bike has the standard single "foot" brake pad.

Okay, so what is the trick on changing the position of the extra peg?

push it forward and lower or push forward and swing up if it's already down should get it off its detent lock position. It is spring loaded. I'd go look at mine but as I mentioned...

Gee whiz, I finally got it up and then tried to get it back down, nope, fingers got tired so I quit.

They even made a non ABS GSA. Most of the bikes have it. '07 here also. :scratch

Special order...sir....built to my liking!:whistle
Back when you could order a bike with or without some of those silly options...!
