49L Topcase Latch

cwsenn

Kitsap County Rounder
My latch broke on my topcase. The two latches on the right side side of the case still work but on the left side the two latches are not moving when the handle is open or closed. Any ideas? I have had this for just shy of a year and was wondering if this is an easy fix?

I appreciate any input you may have, Chuck

I just noticed my 49L case has a bum latch too. I don't know if I screwed it up or not. I'll be looking for an exploded diagram of the mechanism on the net. Please forward any advice or documents.

thanks

Well disregard my previous post also.:thumb I fixed the latch. I probably over filled the box and it torqued the latch enough to pop a "keeper." This "keeper" fits in a notch under the rim at the latch. Something lifted the rim enough to free the "keeper." I was able to pry the rim back enough to re-install the keeper. The latches work great now.

thanks for playing.....:dance
